Volvo gets first order for new hybrid buses from Luxembourg

Luxembourg's bus operator Sales-Lentz has announced the purchase of 6 brand new 7700 hybrid Volvo buses. This is the first firm purchase order of the recently-released model and means the first unit will hit the streets by the end of 2009, with the remaining five coming in 2010. The contract was signed in front of the Luxembourger Minister of Environmental Affairs, who considers the widespread use of hybrid buses a key step to curbing the small country's carbon emissions as well as reducing noise pollution from buses leaving their stops.
