Tesla Roadster will get a post-crash analysis

Sometimes you have to see the upside when something bad happens: this is what engineers from Tesla must have realized because they have gotten their hands on the Tesla roadster that got wrecked in southern France. According to VP Darryl Siry, the car has been shipped to Hethel, England, where the Lotus factory is located. A group of engineers will check how every piece of the car that suffered in the accident. According to Mr. Siry, "The safety systems worked exactly as engineered," although the passenger has announced plans to sue Tesla for injuries. Nevertheless, the Tesla's electric security worked and the systems were shut off during the accident, preventing electrocutions. "Now that it happened, we're excited to be able to dig into it. It will be a valuable tool," Siry told Green Car Advisor.

Since when are automakers liable for every injury that occurs in one of their cars? Lets face it, just driving a car on the road is tantamount to signing a waiver. If the safety systems worked as was claimed, I don't see why Tesla should have to pay a dime. Driving is dangerous, and only idiots think otherwise.
It's when the car explodes around you during normal operation, or something along those lines, that you have a claim. There's no justice in the world when this dolt has the money for a Tesla while I can only dream about one.

It's because he was a passenger being driven by a Tesla employee. The issue is not the safety of the car, but the possible negligence of the driver.
I do wonder if he's still considering buying a Tesla now that he's not only seen what the car can do but also walked away from a serious crash with only minor injuries.

Yeah, it wasn't him driving, so he has rights for compensation at least for medical bills since though the injures weren't life-threatening; he was in the hospital quite a while I believe.

if it was in france there were no medical bills, if he was a french citizen, if he was british i am not sure how the health care gets moved around from country to country so there might have been bills, but it would not amount to that much, unlike here in america

"According to Mr. Siry, "The safety systems worked exactly as engineered,"
And we should expect no less? Why is this news?

Because some idiots are trying to portray electric vehicles as being "inherently unsafe". The performance of the safety systems disproved that silly notion.
