VIDEO: Renault's new diesel V6

Although it was first announced during the latest Paris Motor Show, Renault has just unveiled new details of its all-new V6 engine. The engine, based on the 2.0-liter 4-cylinders, was developed in-house at the Rueil-Malmaison location in France, although it's going to be built in the Cléon, France plant. It is going to be seen first in the Laguna coupé engine bay, where its performances will be quite good: 3.0-liter, 235hp and 450 Nm of torque (about 260 lb-ft). When the new V6 is installed in the Laguna coupé, the car will accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 7.5 seconds. Fuel consumption in the European Mixed cycle is 7.2l/100 km, about 33mpg (US), with CO2 emissions of 192 g/km. This engine can be placed either transversally or longitudinally, the latter position allowing it to churn out 265hp and 550 Nm of torque (405 lb-ft). We will find this engine not only offered in Europe, but also in the US, where it will surely be combined with a NOx reduction system. Find the video after the jump.
