Enterprise Rent-A-Car starts "hybrid branches," bringing 100 hybrids to Denver airport

As many people know, when you're looking for a green car to rent, it isn't always easy to find a hybrid available. Enterprise Rent-A-Car seems serious about changing that and as part of an effort to create 80 "hybrid branches" nationwide, will be hosting 100 hybrids at their Denver International Airport location. If they don't encounter more difficulty actually getting the cars, the "hybrid surge" should push their national count up to 7,000 from its current 2,000 vehicles. The rentals are said to be priced at $59.99 per day and that extra $10 will put you in the driver's seat of a Toyota Prius or the hybrid version of the Ford Escape or Toyota Camry. We hope they will also carry the very nice Ford Fusion hybrid when that goes on sale next year. If it so happens that you don't find one of the new additions to the Enterprise family available the next time you find yourself at a rental counter, keep in mind that they offer the chance to offset your CO2 output as well.

I had the opportunity to rent a Prius last February at Denver International Airport. Being my first drive of the Prius, I was a bit skeptical. After figuring out the gear selector, I was on my way. To my amazement, and after driving through the mountains to go skiing, I averaged 52 mpg over 300 miles. I hope Enterprise continues to expand their hybrid selections as this will give over people the opportunity to experience these vehicles. After driving the Prius for 3 days, I was impressed by its frugal use of gas, especially up and down mountains.
