Does an LPG conversion make this HUMMER green?

One one hand, we have the HUMMER H2, which is pretty much the least green vehicle on the road; indeed, if the Prius is the standard bearer by which others are judged, the H2 is the pallbearer. On the other hand, we have liquefied petroleum gas. LPG, as it's more commonly referred, burns much cleaner than gasoline and just about any internal combustion engine can be converted to run on the fuel. What happens when you combine the two?
A German actor, appropriately named Jumbo Schreiner no less, has commissioned Geiger Cars, a longtime German tuning company, to build him just such an oddball machine. In addition to a 200-liter LPG tank out back, this HUMMER H2 has been jacked up an additional 10 inches and has massive 20-inch chrome alloys holding high rolling-resistance Toyo tires. To complete the atrocity, the entire vehicle has been sprayed in attention-grabbing burnt orange with contrasting blue XXL decals on each side. Green this is not, folks. Try again.

No it does not. This man and his vehicle is so far from where we have to be in order to be "Green" for our future.

I'm going to venture a guess that "Jumbo" here is hung like an elf.

Nope, it's not green. It needs to be painted to make it green! :-D
I have serious doubts that the point of this vehicle is to be environmentally friendly - more about in-your-face attitude than anything else.
As for the Prius, I tried it for a year, and then, when fuel prices began to skyrocket, I ditched the car. Why? The thing kept giving me the orange triangle of death!
So, until the cars can become more reliable, I'll take a conventional running vehicle. Besides, we need electric, not hybrid.

The LPG conversion was to reduce fuel costs, not to be "green". After all, choosing a hummer isn't green, and jacking it up and adding oversized tires only increases fuel consumption.
Jacking it up also makes it less stable, less manuverable, more prone to rollover, reduces acceleration and braking, and much less safe. That's why I consider it just another jacked-up idiot-mobile.

While styling is over the top (understatement), the vehicle will probably not be used much. He will more likely drive an all battery car on a daily basis...NOT (Who cares..I won't drive one either). He probably has a 12 cylinder s-class Mercedes to shop and party everyday.
The fact that it does run on propane is great. Offroad vehicles in general do very well, in fact better than gas counterparts. It provides a closed fuel system so they cannot be contaminated with water. The vehicle can operate seemlessly on incredible angles and grades that regular gas engines cannot. The engines have been found to last 2-3 times longer due to the cleaner fuel used. Propane also has a high Octane rating, desirable for high performance engines (yes, I know this truck engine is not one of those).
I love propane for use in performance vehicles and will probably convert on of my track cars to this fuel for the reasons above...not to feel all warm and fuzzy and join the herd of superior minded peeps who drive "green cars".

The Mantra of all who want to defend their econoboxes.
And the LPG conversion is nothing new here...a lot of SUVs, Pick Up Trucks and Hummers are converted. It's much more fun to get gas when it only costs half the price :D

Funny....Mantras work both ways don't they.
Being that this is a "clean" Hummer, the "Mantra" as you call it is even more true.
Hitting a nerve is even more fun that getting fuel at half the price...

Just because he drives a Hummer you all assume he is hung like an elf. Just because you can't afford one, don't get pissed. Am I defending this guy? Hell no. I think that damn thing is ugly as sin. You aren't bitching about his V-12 Benz or the other cars he drives that get worse millage than this one, just the one that stands out the most. If he wants to waste his money, let him. If he wants to put all that money back into the economy because he is too stupid to buy something efficient...let him!
Bitch at him for not making it diesel, bitch at him for not making a diesel hybrid out of it, not because of the vehicle being an H2. And as for you Prius driving freaks...you do more damage BUYING that Prius than the emissions you make. The environmental damage those batteries make is worse than whats coming out of the exhaust of my Honda.
