Detroit 2009: Toyota FT-EV on the stand

We were introduced to the FT-EV, Toyota's surprise battery-powered Detroit Auto Show vehicle, the other day - but only via official press photos. We've now had a chance to check out the shiny decorations on the FT-EV here in Cobo Hall and can bring you some pics of the electric city car. This small EV - it's based on the iQ mini-car after all - is absolutely covered in gold circuit board and animal stickers. Oh, and some flowers. You also can't miss the EV badging on the front, sides and back. A more demure version of this concept car should ready for production by 2012. Um... Honda or Toyota... Title says one thing, article says another... perhaps a bit of proof-reading is in order?

Don't any of the authors read the comments after making a post? I've seen some low-level typos go uncorrected for weeks, but an error this obvious, pointed out hours ago, ought to be easy to correct.

A serious competitor to the Smart EV, in spite of the cute graphics.
The gallery has some nice views. Suprise! it has 4 seats, which makes it a bit larger than the IQ I also liked the wheels.

The iQ has four seats... surprise! This is based on the iQ. They just blocked out the rear side windows and put in new headlight array on the front, and painted the inside white. It is the iQ with electric drive.

Sebastian, better correct the title - it should read "Toyota", not Honda.
