PROBIO inaugurates the first biodiesel rewards card

Although we get more of those credit rewards cards than we really need, here's one for a project that promotes biodiesel. A few territories in the European Union will soon have biodiesel fidelity cards (as they're technically known) to help you fill your car with the biofuel. The five regions are the Spanish provinces of Ávila, Burgos and Huelva, Pomurje in Slovenia and Abruzzo in Italy. Each region will offer benefits to biodiesel users. For instance, some local councils will reduce Road Tax by 50 percent once the motorist shows uses the card enough times. The aim of the project, created under the 30-month long PROBIO project is to make biodiesel more common and better known in specific markets (the five regions are all rural ones; prime targets for PROBIO), to promote biofuel agriculture and raise awareness about the benefits of biodiesel.

I live in Italy so when I read about Abruzzo I was very happy. It is a bit far from me in Venice, but I hope the idea spreads to the rest of Italy. I drive a small diesel so I would be happy to buy biodiesel now, as I plan to buy an EV as my next car.
