Europeans get their first crack at the Mitsubishi iMiEV as tests start

Mitsubishi has previously offered up its electric iMiEV for media test drives in Europe, but it hasn't conducted formal field trials. That is about to change as a dozen examples will go on test later this month. Five of the cars will be in England with the rest going to Holland, Norway and Spain. Several of these diminutive cars are also being tested here in the U.S., although Mitsubishi hasn't yet decided if it will offer the car for sale here after its Japanese and European launch. We may have to wait for the next-generation EV from Mitsubishi. If you're in Detroit and attending the Auto Show this week, be sure to head downstairs to the jungle track and try one out. I sampled the iMiEV at Cobo Hall last week and found it to be surprisingly room for its size and offering sprightly performance.
