Rendered Speculation: 2011 Nissan Versa
Nissan's smallest car in the U.S. market is the Versa and it's due for a refresh. That new design is expected to appear in 2010 and will be built on the same platform that French partner Renault uses for the Megane. Like the current Versa, it will apparently be coming in both four-door sedan and five-door hatch flavors. Also coming from the French side of the family will likely be some engines. Like those from many other automakers, these are expected to follow the path of smaller displacement and turbocharging. The Renault TCe engines come in 1.4L and 2.0L variants, although it seems unlikely that a 2.0L turbo would land in the Versa. [Source: CarScoop]

Huh? I doubt that they'll move it to the Megane platform. It seems to be selling purely on price, which is made possible through the cheap mid-90s Clio platform. (the same as used on the Dacia Sandero) The larger, more complicated Megane platform would make that impossible.

Mirko, I agree. The Megane is a C segment car, the Versa will be built on a B platform.

Actually the current Versa is a C-Segment car and is the same size as the previous Ford Focus hatchback. The Versa is 8 inches longer than a 2009 Honda Fit (itselft 4 inches longer than the 2008 model). Unless Nissan shrinks the next Versa down, it will remain a C-segment car.
