ElectricAid pushes Th!nk City to the limit in video review

What should one do during the cold Norwegian winters? How about take an all-electric car out for a test drive, cruise on up the mountains and then spin out on a frozen drag strip? That's what our friends at Electricaid did with a Th!nk City recently. Over three days, the crew got some beautiful shots of the car in action and then added their dry Norwegian humor, including a discussion of whether or not there is enough room in one of these zero-emission cars to get intimate with another person. Their verdict: yes, but you will be seen. Watch the video after the jump.
One note: when they are comparing EVs to hydrogen-powered vehicles and they say, "Put a sock in it, Hammond," they actually meant Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson. Top Gear's Richard Hammond is a fan of the Th!nk City, Clarkson is a hydrogen man. Thanks to Leif Richard for the tip!

Just to be clear, I didn't shoot this video. Our friends in Norway did. But I agree, it's great.

i liked the part about H2 at the end. I'm sure Gorr will be up in arms.

I really liked the poke at Clarkson at the end (not that I dislike him, I just dislike his Hydrogen superiority complex). Shame they didn't get it right without needing the annotation though.
It's particularly nice to see how well it performs in cold weather. I could see it handling well in Toronto. Not so sure about Montreal or Winterpeg though (Winnipeg).

Hi and thank you for liking our film. I agree its not the person, just the sabotage activism his been up to lately. And yeah its a shame about the script. I cant understand how that happened. We all know who the guy is. *$#%&*
I think it can perform good in any cold climate. The sodium batteries that is used for the colder markets holds an internal temperature by itself. You need to have it plugged inn as often as you can. Not longer than 48 hours between trips to the plug I think. And then your battery should "work like a sjarm" to quote the movie =)

Oh and about Sebastians blogpost: "then added their dry Norwegian humor"
Yes we know =P Norwegians generally has a bad sense of humor. I guess it the cold and the isolation that has stiffened us up over the centuries =) We are also notoriously bad at taking irony. We dont have to travel further than Denmark to get uncomfortable in irony situations =)
My girlfriend is Danish and before she moved up here, she picked up a "user manual" in the bookstore on how to handle a Norwegian. In the humor section it is strongly advised not to use irony as the poor Norwegian might take it as a personal insult to his/hers intelligence =)

How is the driving range affected by the cold and running a heater and accessories compared to mild temperatures? That's been a big concern for me, living in New England where we get weather like the video and have to use headlights, wipers and defroster on full-blast to be able to see in an ice storm or heavy snow.

It hard for me to give you the exact numbers on it but we had all the heaters on with no problems during the whole production except for when we was filming the driver talking about the car. We then turned of the fan heaters so that one could get better audio quality on the recording. This is also why you can see the dew on the side windows in the film.
We drove about 8 hours or so per day i Think.
