VIDEO: Bikes answer "Will it blend?" affirmatively

Quizzically, it has become the custom of late to ask of practically any new product that comes to market, "Will it blend?" Today we are happy to bring you a bicycle capable of answering that question in the affirmative. The Juice Peddler makes a selection of bicycle / blender hybrids that can not only carry you about town, but also supply you with a refreshing fruit smoothie once you've arrived at your destination. While the company doesn't profess to have invented the bicycle blender (they've been around for some time, apparently), they do claim to have perfected it. Over a period of years, the Chind?gu has evolved from its humble tricycle beginnings to a polished range of 5 models that await the opportunity to fulfill all your blending and bicycling needs. Well, except for the Fender Blender. That particular machine lacks a rear wheel and is meant more as a stationary blender than a transportative one. Hit the jump to learn more in a video chock full of bicycle blending action.

In case anyone is remotely interested the bicycle pictured has an elongated rear assembly sold by the Extracycle company which converts a bike to a cargo carrying machine of considerable utility. Conversions such as this have encouraged a few companies to build what are now referred to as "longtail" bikes which are long wheelbase units designed specifically for cargo hauling as opposed to just bolting on hardware as with the Extracycle frame extender pieces. The exemplar of this small but hardy niche is a bike from Minneapolis based Surly Bicycles with the quirky name of Big Dummy. Others are appearing such as the Kona Ute. Slow but steady growth in this niche is expected to continue despite the economy being in the dumper or perhaps because of it. Cheap they are not but beloved by their owners they definitely are. Sales numbers are small in relation to the overall bike market but Surly has had trouble keeping up with demand even with prices near the thousand dollar mark for a frame alone and fully built models going for over 2K.
