Alfa Romeo launching a frugal Mi.To version with a sub-?10,000 price tag

Alfa Romeo has announced a new base version of its Junior Furiosa Mi.To. Fitted to a 1.4-liter gasoline engine, the Mi.To drops CO2 emissions down to 138 g/km and consumes fuel at a rate of 5.9 l/100km (40 mpg U.S.). And all this for a price tag under €10,000 in most European countries. Of course, you can't expect a really sports car at that price, and the Mi.To gets by with 78hp and a 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62mph) time of 12.3 seconds. Thankfully, Fiat's 1.3-liter diesel engine also finds a home under the Mi.To's hood. That's good for 90 hp and keeps fuel consumption to 4.1 l/100km (57 mpg U.S.) with CO2 emissions of just 114 gm/k. The problem? A higher sticker price.
