Audi provides TDI celebrity shuttles at Miami Film Festival

Jason Mcdade and Kyle Jefferson arrive in an Audi TDI clean diesel to the Miami International Film Festival
Audi's latest appearance doing celebrity shuttle service is taking place this week in Miami at the International Film Festival. Just as Audi and other automakers do at such events, the German automaker is providing a fleet of vehicles to move the "special people" around. In this case, transport comes in the form of Audi's Q7 TDI. The Q7 is powered by the VW group 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel that gets 240 hp and is rated at 19/25 mpg city/highway. It's certainly no Prius, but it does give a big dose of luxury while still getting decent mileage. You know, considering that sometimes you need to move an entourage around.

Audi helps to reduce carbon footprint at Miami International Film Festival with Q7 TDI clean diesel fleet
HERNDON/MIAMI, Mar 9, 2009 - As the exclusive automotive partner of the Miami International Film Festival, Audi is providing a fleet of Audi Q7 TDI clean diesel SUVs to shuttle the Festival's guests. These SUVS will help reduce the event's overall carbon footprint. Throughout the 10 days of the Festival, celebrities, filmmakers and key industry professionals are enjoying this environmentally friendly mode of transportation on their way to film screenings, talks and after parties. Audi demonstrates its commitment to the arts, design and corporate philanthropy through partnerships such as MIFF, Design Miami/ and the Costume Designers Guild Awards, as well as past and present global charitable relationships with the Elton John AIDS Foundation and Best Buddies International. Miami, as a cultural crossroads in America, is of particular importance to the German luxury automotive brand.
Audi recently inaugurated the "re:design Simpson Park" project, in conjunction with the City of Miami, to revitalize one of the city's oldest green hammocks.

You can't have an event anymore without a bunch of celebrities cruising around in hybrids or other vehicles like the Audi Q7 TDI thinking "Hey, look at how green I am!"
Ya, so green until the cameras are off and they fly back home on their private jets to their 10,000 sq ft mansions. Hollywood=Hypocrisy

If it's anything at all like most other film festivals, it's a bunch of nobody or up-and-coming directs and maybe a few actors. There are a couple of major festivals like Sundans, Cannes, etc. but the rest highlight independent films.
For about a decade Saab provided cars for the Heartland film deal in Indianapolis.
They probably provided those giant SUVs because there's been little interest and they wanted to drum up publicity? Now if they provided A3 diesels.... ;)

Ah for photoshopping skills..... if you put black doors and roof on the car, add a gold shield to the guy in black's belt.... can't you almost imagine cuffs on the guy in gray?
Actually in that pose, the cuffs are what came to mind first.....

19/25 for a SUV that size is very nice. Are these here, or are they coming to the states? I know the Q5 diesel was coming (I think).
