Coskata pilot plant waiting for government aid to move forward

Coskata CEO Bill Roe in happier times, January 2008
It hasn't been an easy 14 months for Coskata. The cellulosic ethanol start-up made a big splash in January 2008 with the announcement of a partnership with GM. Since then, the company did move forward with its plans to build cellulosic ethanol demonstration plants and raised more money, but there was no way it could be immunized from the overall economic slump. Earth2Tech takes a look at Coskata's current reality and finds that the company CEO Bill Roe recently told attendees at the Wall Street Journal Eco:nomics conference that Coskata's first commercial-scale plant is on hold unless the Department of Energy comes through with a loan guarantee. The good news is that the DOE is indeed moving quickly on handing out money, so perhaps the promise of $1 gallons of ethanol from almost anything will some day be kept.

Cellulosic ethanol comes very close to being pointless. In the current context, it most certainly is a distraction and regardless of anyone's intentions serves effectively as an excuse to delay widespread adoption of flex fuel cars and alcohol fuel.
What is too often ignored or not known is that ALREADY, today, with no further research, we can make alcohol fuel from ANY BIOMASS without exception, including woody and fibrous material. That fuel is METHANOL, with an M.
Fully flex fueled vehicles can easily run on methanol, ethanol, or gasoline, or any mix of them.
So why the constant focus on cellulosic ethanol?
1. The corn ethanol industry has succeeded in drowning out methanol from public attention, despite flex fuel cars having been originally intended to run only on methanol or gasoline. Now, few even know about it.
2. The food vs. fuel myth. Compounding myth no. 1 (the only alcohol fuel is ethanol), there is a second myth, that standard ethanol, made from the starchy and sugary portions of plants, threatens to raise food prices, reduce food availability, and cause starvation. That's quite simply false.

Cellulosic ethanol is not the answer nether is methanol. Now unlike what is being said in the media there is an answer that is ready for production right now. The next generation bio-fuel is ready for full deployment. Green Gas is the first true next generation bio-fuel. It is at a more advanced stage of development than any other alternative fuel. It solves the feed stock, food chain and logistics problems of ethanol and can be delivered at a competitive price compared to fossil fuel. Green gasoline
Require fewer production step vs. petroleum
Is NOT made from Ethanol
Require and contain no lead
Contain no alcohol or oxygenates
Has no sulfates
Requires no additives for Octane levels
Seamless integration in engine operation( no mechanical upgrade required)
Will mix with petroleum products with no adverse affects
Can be made from any bio source( algae, land fill, sugarcane, miscanthus,
sugar beet, sorghum, etc.
Emits no C02 and less than 76% of the emissions that petroleum currently
causes
Green gasoline has a zero cabin foot print and it makes all preceding fuels obsolete.

QDS Inc.
Presents Extraordinary Patented Technology
Highest Efficiency, Inexpensive & Most Importantly;
Clean, Metal Free CO2 Sources for ALGAE – BIOFUELS.
To Algae & BioFuel Producers:
We are QD Sciences, Inc. located in TX, FL and NC USA. We have developed this enterprise currently we are focusing on commercializing our technology worldwide. We have a PCT PATENT; additionally we have 12 giant technologies that are pending in the clean energy field.
For ALGAE & BIOFUELS we can supply the only CLEAN CO2 Source.
Primarily ODS technology is supplying 100% completely clean, metal free CO2.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR ALGAE & BIOFUELS INDUSTRIES?
QDS technology can remove all the toxins from stack and separate and clean CO2 from Coal, oil, gas, and waste fired power plants, cement manufactures etc.
We have successfully finalized a low cost, high efficiency: AIR POLLUTION CONTROL TECHNOLOGY. This technology is for any capacity and can be applicable to any kind of pollutant industry.
A minimum of 98% efficiency has been obtained through this single process to capture and hold such pollutant chemical compounds as: COx, SOx, NOx, nitrous oxide (N20), haloflurocarbons, CH4, HO (hydroxide), H2S, Aldehit (H-CHO), Mercury (Hg), Hydrogen Florid (HF), Trifluoromethane (HFC-23), phosphor (P), lead, SnO2 micro crystals, (Cl2), Vinyl Chloride (C2H3Cl) volatile organic compounds (VOC), sulphur hexafluoride (SF6), particulate matter, odor, etc. as well as separate and contain clean metal free CO2.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR POLLUTANT INDUSTRIES?
The cost of removing these toxins is less than $5 for each ton of coal or any other fuel.
New remarkable techniques are now able to convert these toxins into fertilizers to be safely degraded into the environment.
98% removal efficiency to meet the new coming regulations and stay within permitted limits.
QDS technology CO2 removal allows 90% of clean CO2 recovery from the QX used liquid to provide for ALGAE farmers other commercial uses.
Installation is possible without interrupting production.
QDS has developed technology to remove flying ash, particular matters and metals at 100% efficiency and operation cost is maximum $1 / ton fuel.
WHERE CAN IT BE USED?
Primarily ODS technology is supplying 100% clean CO2 for ALGAE-BIOFUELS producers.
• Coal, oil, gas, and waste fired power plants,
• Industrial chemical plants,
• Oil refineries,
Removing H2S from Natural gas, Syngas,
• Aluminum, Copper producers, Cement manufacturers, Steel or Paper mills, etc.
• Plastic, Rubber or similar polluting industries
• Transatlantic vessel exhaust, Train and Automobile Exhaust,
• Incineration and medical organic waste fired plants,
• Kitchen chimneys, Odor creating industries, etc.
FROM ALGAE TO ETHANOL PRODUCTION THE FREE, CLEAN CO2;
The QDS technology promises to; capture and transfer the CO2 into green houses or any other CO2 end users and ALGAE TO ETHANOL producers, the fuel of the new century is Ethanol obtained from ALGAE, and ALGAE desperately needs CO2 to grow faster and obtain extremely higher yields.
SUPERIORITY OF QDS TECHNOLOGY;
We are removing more than 98% efficiently without exception all the toxins from any kind of pollutant industries.
Optionally: We are able to separate and take back CO2 to use in other areas of industry.
Optionally: We are able to keep CO2 in store to keep our planet safe.
Optionally: We are able to turn waste to fertilizer.
Optionally: We can supply CO2 for algae farm use or we can contain it in safety.
GENERAL RESULTS;
Comprehensive FLUE GAS tests, certified by the Environmental Protection Agency of the United States of America were conducted on four different occasions. The resulting reports are available for viewing.
We have International Patent,
We have 4 separate EPA/USA reports,
We are ready to build plant of any capacity and at any place at the world.
