Consumer Reports gets exclusive first drive of Chevy Volt

Our friends at Consumer Reports have reportedly gotten behind the wheel of the hotly-anticipated Chevy Volt for a world exclusive first drive. The first thing CR's testers noticed was the car's radio, which manages to play both AM and FM broadcasts, which is good. After properly setting the station, the team realized that the car accelerates when the throttle pedal is pressed. When the shifter was placed in reverse, the car was able to move backwards. Similarly, application of the brake pedal slowed the car. So far, so good.
Not all was perfect. According to the tester's notes, "A small cubby on the center console proved too small for cubs." Not good. Also, the sun visors were not able to completely cause the sun to go away and the team found that driving with children was "basically a nuisance" that "should be avoided where possible." I can't read any website on April 1st. I hate this day. The cruft produced on this day really makes me wish I could quit reading the feeds that do this stuff altogether, but then I'd only have CNN and BBC. I guess we know what separates news from blogs.
I liked when Slashdot did the OMGPONIES! theme on their site. THAT is a good April Fools prank. Making the validity of your content (whether or it's made up or real) doubtable for an entire day is simply annoying. It sucks to hate all my favorite blogs for 24 hours every year.

It would help if the jokes were actually funny.

That attempt at humor was so lame that i questioned the "attempt" part.
Chevy should have announced that they were changing the name of the Volt to the Watt.

The worse thing is with blogs copying each other with little actual fact checking is that it will be days before the April fools jokes stop running in circles between blogs.

Im sure that this car will move forward on the road like any other car but the big problem will be when the first green car will be put on the road then all cars and especially this one will look like sh*t because the green car will cost 10 000$-15 ooo$ without pollution and no fuel cost. This shit?y concept represent the demise of gm and u.s.a. Please somebody from india or china come save us.

Great, now Gorr is really getting into the April Fools spirit of things!

Of course, when the Volt goes on sale in India, they will change the name to "Ohm"

Don't let the spoilsports and wet blankets get you down, Jeremy Korzeniewski. It brought a smile to my face and a chuckle to my lips,it didn't cause a panic and it didn't hurt anyone. That's the mark of a good April Fooler.

Hybrid is only solving half the problem when 100% electric would solve it all, and don’t whine about "what do we do with the batteries when they are done." I was going to buy a Volt but when I heard of Tesla Motors new car that is under $50,000 and is 100% electric with a range of 480km (298 miles) I said good bye Volt. The only thing I love about the volt over the Tesla is the center console display screen, the speedometer screen, and the way the dash and door panels look, but I am not going to sacrifice a 100% electric car for a hybrid volt because the interior looks great. The Volt is a good looking car, well at least the front of it, the side profile is ugly as hell. GM get with the program, you are again dragging ass when you could be part of the solution. We wanted better looking cars, and well…you still working on that, granted they do look better. We want 100% electric and you are still dragging ass. One of the lead guys at Tesla said they built the car to force other companies to fallow suit, thanks Tesla cuz it seems that GM, Ford, and Chrysler still need to be (apologies for the terminology) bitch slapped. Wake up Detroit we want 100% electric not half breeds. Hybrid that is soooo 90’s
