Chevy Volt won't be cut by task force, could be delayed by GM's woes

Ever since President Obama's automotive task force deemed the Chevy Volt too little too late to save General Motors, some have been worried that the vehicle would be canceled before it ever got off the ground. Our friends over at GM-Volt.com went so far as to seek out a comment from Bob Lutz on his last official day in the office. Lutz responded that the "Volt will survive and prosper," allaying fears of the project's impending demise.
If an endorsement from Bob Lutz wasn't enough to calm the nerves, Bloomberg is quoting an unidentified source with apparent inside knowledge of what goes on at the task force as saying the project won't be killed. It's not all good news, though, as the same person indicates that the Volt may be delayed due to the automaker's ongoing woes.
The official sentiment at General Motors is that the Chevy Volt will make it to production on schedule. "This thing is full steam ahead, nothing has changed," says GM spokesman Rob Peterson, referring to the Volt project. From where we sit, it's hard to imagine any reasonable scenario where the task force would rid The General of what may be the most hotly-anticipated eco-friendly vehicle of the decade.

GM has a real problem. They ran the business down to the point they couldn't meet their obligations, and when they took federal assistance they gave up the right to run their own business. We will be hearing of their chapter 11 filing probably within a week, which means the courts and the executive branch both will be trying to run GM. A new board of directors will likely be appointed by political considerations which means special interests, the court, and the executive branch will be trying to run GM. What a mess! They can't, however, be allowed to delay or cancel the Volt. The end result is the remains will be a much leaner, meaner company.
Chapter 11 NOW!

It's obvious that they are afraid of putting this car in paying consumers hands. Only paying consumers speak in automotive world, even with the advent of consumer blogs like in this site. This site is well known in confusing and gna gna gna disparate and foolish and stupid car consumer opinions leading to nothing good, LOL. If the manufacturers have follow opinions in this site except mine then it's their problems and im lauphing of them. Billions have been spend for nothing and each and all manufacturers lose ton of money since 2 years because they don't take my opinion the first time they see it written here, that's why the entire market for new car is going down the sink at light speed.
It's an easy task of building a green car that move forward with power and no fuel cost nor pollution. But some folks, about 5 billions have paniked about water because they realized that they were trying to destroy water by any means. I say and i repeat, as long as we will be moving of generate electricity without water , we will remain in pain and confusion and it's the fault of bloggers here and car manufacturers and goverments and big-oil, cia, epa, doa, foreighn goverments, journalists, scientists, teachers, hollywood artists, bums in the streets, and especially toyota president.

Too little, too late, too expensive and GM reputation for quality vehicles is at the bottom barrel. GM should just shelve this overprice toy and focus on smaller fuel efficient cars and work on quality built long lasting products.

Jubei, have you ever driven a car other than your little Ford Fiesta? GM vehicles are just fine in terms of quality and reliability. Maybe you should 1) do a bit of research, 2) get some personal experience, and 3) get a BRAIN before commenting on anything automotive related.

The car looks awesome. I like it. The problem GM is going to have even if they release it today, is it's going to be too expensive.
