Honda challenges UK Insight test drivers to get top MPG number

Honda is just now launching the new Insight in Europe, and the marketing team for the UK-based dealerships has come up with a rather inventive new campaign to encourage test drives. Dealerships will record the fuel mileage (as displayed on the Insight's internal trip computer) that drivers manage to achieve on test drives and the figure will be recorded until the end of April. Once the program is complete, those individuals who scored the highest fuel efficiency will get a voucher worth £100 at Biome Lifestyle, a European distributor of ethical goods.
We'll have to wait till Thursday, April 30th, to see how it all plays out, but our initial snap judgment is that this is a good idea. Getting people inside the dealership in the first place is sometimes the hardest challenge, and if even a few people end up loving the car and either buying it or telling their friends about it, it'll pay off. Plus, what better way to highlight the fuel efficiency of the hybrid?

I saw this car in person yesterday evening at a dealership. Truly hideous....
Not to mention the $28K price with markup.

So, I take it you also found the FCX Clarity "Truly hideous"? After all, the Insight took its design cues from the Clarity, with a similar body design and the same front grille. I'm also wondering what, if any, cars you'd consider "beautiful".
They say "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder", sounds like ulgy is, too. Personally, I like the looks of the Insight, which isn't suprising, I liked the looks of the FCX Clarity too. But I don't judge cars on looks alone, and the Insight is an affordable practical car, while the FCX Clarity is expensive to lease and run, impossible to buy, and with limited range and refueling options, not practical.

The FCX Clarity idea is ugly, but the car looks good.
The new Insight... isn't as beautiful as the original, I still wish the back wheels were covered. It was an interesting and useful design and it really looked good.

Do you have the memory of a toad?
We've gone over this already...the FCX is hideous. I don't care if the Insight is practical..the Fit with the same IMA system would have been a better car all-round and was already out.

Oh...by the way...if you want a modern beautiful car, consider the Alfa 8C....is that good enough for you?

If you want beautiful car don't get fuel efficient and safe cars please keep your comment to yourself and just get those exotic super cars and save an argument.
