Shanghai 2009: Changfeng CS7 Hybrid - nice package marred by horrible schnoz

Chinese automaker Changfeng is currently displaying a hybrid SUV at the Shanghai Motor Show called the CS7. Under the hood sits a 1.3L four cylinder engine that's boosted by a 10kW motor, which also acts as the starter. This powertrain sends its horses through a CVT transmission to the front wheels. A second electric motor that puts out a maximum of 30kW sends power to the rear axle, thereby providing all-wheel drive.

Both motors are fed their electrons via a 288V lithium ion battery pack that can be charged up using a standard 220V outlet. Changfeng claims a full charge offers enough juice to travel about 30 miles (50 kilometers). We're not sure what's up with that ridiculously large front grille, but other than that styling wart, the CS7's not a bad looking 'ute and it offers seating for five occupants and their luggage.
