Shanghai 2009: SAIC Shanghai EXPO Fuel Cell EV

As expected, Chinese automaker Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp (SAIC) has partnered up with General Motors to house the American company's fuel cell technology in a midsize sedan platform for China, and the car is currently on display at the Shanghai Motor Show. The fuel cell itself is the same one that GM uses in its current fuel cell Equinox and is the fourth generation of the zero emissions system that the automaker has created.
SAIC is using the platform from its Roewe 750 sedan for the new experimental fuel cell-powered concept, the chassis of which was originally developed by British automaker Rover. According to our colleagues in China, the SAIC EXPO Fuel Cell EV can travel at speeds up to 93 miles per hour (150 kilometers per hour). Range, of course, is limited to the available hydrogen on board, which we're still a bit fuzzy on.
The SAIC EXPO Fuel Cell EV will join its older brother, the Fuel Cell Equinox, to shuttle VIPs at the upcoming World Expo Shanghai in 2010.
