VIDEO: Professional racers ride TTX01 electric motorcycle prototype, come away impressed

TTX01 electric motorcycle prototype - Click above to watch the video after the break
Race organizers for the upcoming TTXGP zero-emissions motorcycle race commissioned an electric motorcycle prototype called the TTX01 late last year to show what kind of potential exists in alternative motorcycle designs, and it appears to be doing exactly that.
After taking the machine to Circuit Zolder in Belgium, a couple of professional racers had some interesting things to say about the all-electric motorcycle and definitely seem to have come away impressed, despite the fact that the bike had recently sustained a bit of damage and was therefore down about 30% on power.
Click past the break to watch the video – trust us, you won't regret it. We're becoming more and more impressed by the amazing sound that these electric bikes manage to put out. Seriously, the TTX01 sounds like some sort of crazed swarm of locusts or something, which really makes us wish the video didn't feature that irritating musical soundtrack.
*Update: Proving wishes really do come true, the irritating musical soundtrack has now been removed.

I call BS on the bike sound.
I would like to see the video again, without soundtrack, and with natural sound.

I won't buy that if there is no small onboard gasoline electric generator recharging the batteries and inproving the performance. Im sick and tire of seeing battery cars and motorcycles doing small local runs of 15 minutes and going nowhere, not to mention that we still don't see airplanes, ships, tractor-trailors trucks, helicopters, electric power stations, water skiing boats, camping caravans powered by batteries.

You're right you won't buy that, because its not for sale...and 15 min? It'l go alot further than that.
Gas generator will IMPROVE performance? It might improve range, but it won't improve performance much, not without a HUGE generator, which adds weight. Electric is up to 75% efficient from grid to wheels... compared to what, 15% with gas? If you want to go further, more batteries. I'm about to put 5kwh in my motorcycle, should get me 50-60miles per charge... and should top 90-100mph in one gear. Electric motors have more torque at 0rpm than a gas engine does, so its instant acceleration.
I don't think you've read these articles much, this motorcycle should do 50-100miles per charge. Most conversions I see now are lithium and get 50-75miles per charge, and some get over 100miles a charge and hit 100mph. Almost all of the TTXGP entrants are using over 10kwh in their bikes which equates to about 100-150miles a charge.
There are electric airplanes and paragliders. There are ski-boats that are electric.... there are alot of electric vehicles that you don't seem to have seen.... they're out there.

Just 2 or 3 years ago, no one would've ever considered designing a motorcycle for roadracing. This is like designing a Model-T last year, then releasing a ZR1 Corvette this year. The change in technology is so rapid that even if you aren't impressed with the perfromance at this very moment, just wait a few months and it will be that much better...
That's not saying the perfromance of the TTX01 isn't already impressive, because it sure is! We'll have to see about the sound/noise. Maybe future racetracks will blast music during races, or vintage IC engine sounds...
