Green GT offers glimpse of possible future product direction

Green GT design study - Click above for a hi-res gallery
The paint is barely dry on their all-electric race car and already the gang at Green GT are thinking about what should come next. The ambitious Swiss-based team commissioned a design study from ISD Valencienne graduate, Thomas Clavet, who has come through with a eye-catching piece of automotive art. The head engineer of Green GT, Christophe Schwartz, seems pretty excited about the effort and envisions the design as the basis for both a Le Mans racer as well as a supercar for the street. He says
"The GreenGT design study could become our 2011 Le Mans Prototype electric racer or it could even become an electric road going supercar. There is a possibility to do both! The advantage of electric cars is that the only difference between a GreenGT electric racecar and road car is the electronic programming. It would be amazing to create two prototype race cars to compete in the 2011 24 hours of Le Mans and 22 road going supercars."While we think it's a pretty slick looking design, we can't help but wonder if some of the openings in the bodywork are really necessary for an electric car. Perhaps a little wind tunnel time would be of some benefit before frittering away too many francs. Still, it would be cool to see on a track somewhere, or better yet, in the ABG garage.

Maybe the air openings are to cool the brakes?

In addition to the brakes, electric motors are also more efficient at lower temps. If you're running an electric car on a race track, especially if it's going to run a long time like Le Mans, it'd be good to have some kind of cooling.
Also, it looks like the openings may be to incorporate aerodynamic components in an aesthetically pleasing manner.

That is one sweet LMP.
I would love to see this blistering the the Hunaudieres straight and the Casa Blanca esses at speed.

Francs? What are Francs?
I spoke to my French teacher a while ago about the slogan on the old French coins "Liberte, Equalite et Fraternite", and she had no idea what I was talking about. She's just young enough to not remember the coins that had been replaced with Euros.

Francs is a reference to the Swiss franc, the country where Green GT is based.

That is a schweet looking LMP! Would love to see it run. The francs don't apply unless they are talking about Swiss Francs. France is part of the EU so they use the Euro.

Francs do apply. The team is Swiss based. Where do you get France from?

My bad Roland, No idea why I made that point.

Is there room for my two supermodel girlfreinds in this thing?

No Joe, I dont think they have any room for your beautiful super model girls. However Joe, I have invented a new design electric car recharging system which will allow a true electric car to run from new york to the west coast (about 3000) miles without needing a recharge. The design will allow the car to seat 6 people. Us Patent Pending. Its for sale! Im putting the word out all over the place! Im also thinking about taking on a partner who would want to help me build the proto-type I have been in touch with the US Dept of Energy, Mr. Dave Howell who works for the Vehicles Technology Program. He is very excited about it and sent me the forms so i may file for a grant to build the proto-type. Mr. Howell said, this thing could be worth Billions of Dollars. Ok...I gotta run. I just want to rectify a very important thing, this project was made by a team work composed by Baptiste Viry, Julien Sarreméjean and me for the design and Mathieu Bouis and Romuald Lemoine for the 3D modelling.
Thanks to all for your comments.
