VIDEO: Loremo takes to the streets, with sound

Loremo electric car - Click above to watch the video after the break
It wasn't long ago that we first saw the first prototype from Germany startup automaker and Auto X-Prize hopeful Loremo move under its own power on video. That clip, though, left us a bit wanting, primarily because there was no sound to be heard. When watching Loremo's latest video, go ahead and turn the volume up. Although the sound doesn't quite seem to match the video in most places and the quality of the footage isn't going to be bringing home any awards, it's better than nothing.
Our current understanding is that the Loremo team has postponed the use of diesel engines in their initial super-lightweight automobiles due to the high cost of sourcing the engines and getting them certified for road use. Instead, the company will forge ahead with an electric version of the vehicle, followed closely by models with at least two optional gasoline-fed powerplants. Click past the break to see and hear the car in action. Thanks for the tip, Matthijs!

My video isn't the best of quality indeed. I am sorry for that. Here is a better version:

Make sure you check it out "in the flesh" before buying. If the photos are any indication, this is a shockingly small car -- almost a child's toy.
Look at the photo halfway down the page. The roofline is just barely above the mens' waists -- and they're not giants.

I don't like the styling at all - it looks like a cheap kit car from forty years ago, especially that awful tail and the way it sits . Not on my wishlist.

@Stan Wellaway
The shape of the back end is likely due to the very low drag Cw=0.20.

Let's hope they'll deliver on the EV version. I'm somewhat skeptical. This project has existed for years, yet they've shown little concrete data, so it's no surprise the diesel version never took off.
It's interesting to compare this car with with the Aptera, both focus on weight reduction and aerodynamics, however the approaches are vastly different: The Aptera has a very unusual appearance, but in practice it's not that different from a regular two-door FWD car. The Loremo, on the other hand looks very much like a normal car, yet it's anything but, with its canopy doors and back-to-back seating.

Loremo is imho vaporware, a bad joke.
Don't expect a production version before 23. century.
Is the Loremo working force still 3 people? lol The project founders left years ago.

Now, this is the future of electric cars. Not the bloated over weight offerings we are getting soon. If we don't accept the fact that less weight IS the most important feature of electric cars then we will continue guzzle fuel no matter what kind, petro fuel or electric.
