Plug-In America launches plug-in vehicle tracker
Over the past few years, there has been such a flood of announcements about new and sundry plug-in vehicle concepts and production plans that keeping tabs on them all has become quite a confusing chore using the traditional "stacks of small bits of paper" method. The goods folks over at Plug In America have realized this and have now created a webpage to take on the task of keeping track of what's happening with all the various makes and models.
So far the list has 66 different all-electric and plug-in hybrid passenger cars, motorcycles, trucks, three-wheeled and commercial vehicles but we are sure there are more that ought to be included (the Venturi Fetish and Volage, for example) as well as updates made to some of the existing entries. To that end they have invited interested parties to send missing information here to help them keep abreast of the rapidly expanding plug-in fleet. Have a look and see if there are some that you know of that they might have missed.

It's GREAT to see so many competing ideas and concepts for the electrification of transportation. Transportation Electrification will kill the oil monopoly, keep the US $Dollars working HERE, reduce the need for US foreign intervention, nation building & empire and will prevent the Oil companies from changing their “Oil Monopoly” into an “H2 monopoly”.
All this is possible because we can produce clean electrons locally and even on the roofs of our own homes. The more distributed and diverse the energy production and the more varied the source energy (wind, solar, wave etc.) the cheaper and more secure from terror, natural disasters etc.
Questions:
How many of the 66 different all-electric and plug-in hybrid passenger cars, motorcycles, trucks, three-wheeled and commercial vehicles have received federal taxpayer funds?
Don't those that DO receive taxpayer money have an unfair advantage over those that don't receive taxpayer money?
Are politicians better at making decisions than the marketplace (you and I)?
Doesn't taxpayer money KILL free competition by giving an unfair advantage to some?
If competition gives us Innovation and improved quality while reducing costs, what happens when gov't central planning kills competition with regulation, taxation and direct taxpayer money favoring some over others?
Isn’t central planning with lack of competition (along with unmanageable spending & debt) what killed to the Soviet Union?
Did we “win” the Cold War with the Soviets, or are we becoming them?

Everyone seems to be sooo brainwashed to turn away from communism. Why?
Yeah, everything is "so much better" in capitalism as we see in the current financial climate. Don't get me wrong I am the last person going this path but believe me, there are always two sides to the story. Being raised in Germany, a country that has seen both sides (capitalism and communism) I can tell you. At the end of the day we are run by a corporate state, being manipulated (brainwashed) by our own media and many even believe that crap they are telling us.

Wow. That's the best list so far on the Net. Very sobering to see that only the Tango (108K?!) and the Tesla Roadster are actually available for sale right now.
Then again, from a glass half-full perspective, it's cool to see how many companies are working on EVs.
