Toyota Prius ad campaign most liked by TV viewers (w/VIDEO)

By now, we've all probably seen the commercials from Toyota's latest marketing campaign for the 2010 Prius hybrid... and we've all probably developed an opinion on them. Any time an advertising campaign is as interesting and different as this one, there are bound to be opposing viewpoints either favoring or strongly disliking them.
Fortunately for Toyota, more people like the commercials for the 2010 Prius than dislike them. In fact, Toyota's "Harmony" spot topped Nielsen's Top 10 Most-Liked New Ads list in May, and the "MPG" commercial came in at #3. For what it's worth, an advertisement for Coke came in at number 2.
If you've somehow managed to miss these commercials on television since the campaign was launched back in May, we've pasted three of them after the break for your viewing pleasure. There's also this behind-the-scenes action. Oh, if you don't like the American marketing campaign, there's always the Japanese commercials with Superman.

I have also seen the new Lexus commercials showing middle aged men doing burn-outs and driving like teenagers. It's interesting that a car company would present such completely different messages between their brands.
I wasn't necessarily expecting an eco-friendly message in the Lexus commercials, but the boy racer branding is odd.

Those adds made my throw up a little in my mouth. Why don't they show the rice paddies they are going to flatten to build their new prius factory or the nickle mines where they get their battery materials. The Prius is a fine car and all, but those adds are rediculus and really make me kinda ill. I'm surprised they didn't have rainbows and bunnies flying out of the tailpipe.

What's so special in rice paddies? It's just a field where something was grown some time ago. No trees, no special ecosystem. The building in which you live in also had to be built somewhere. Maybe on a 200-year-old field of grass. Did you whine about it?

You see? This is how dungy lies about hybrids continue to spread. Sudbury nickel mine photos are typical falsification done likely by Prius competition disguised as "independent bloggers", incapable of producing cars that fuel efficient.

What they fail to tell you is this:
"Toyota says that nickel has been mined from in Sudbury since the 1800s, and that “the large majority of the environmental damage from nickel mining in and around Sudbury was caused by mining practices that were abandoned decades ago.” Out of the Inco mine’s 174,800-ton output in 2004, Toyota purchased 1000 tons, just over a half-percent of its output. The plant’s emissions of sulfur dioxide are down 90 percent from 1970 levels, and it’s targeting a 97-percent reduction in those emissions by 2015, according to Toyota."

See the steaming pile of lies? Sudbury polluted through hundreds of years and ruined its surroundings. The mine and factory has been made compliant with environmental regulations then. And afterwards, hybrids were born that consumed a tiny fraction of this factory output. Yet professional turd spewers paid by inferior hybrid competition spread lies that the pollution and environmental damage around Sudbury is Prius fault.

Prius is the cleanest burning car in its class and has the highest fuel efficiency.
The only thing I don't like about these ads is that they should have come up with numbers describing Prius efficiency and how it crushes its inefficient and dirty competition. I'd prefer this rather than some childish pictures.

I have a deposit down on a 2010 Prius, and I have to say I couldn't imagine a commercial series I would like less. I hate those commercials.

hmmm, these ads are cheap copys of the famous Honda diesel ads.
...toyota is making this palnet a better place? i dont think so...how bout those V8-engines in the giant toyota suv:s? :-(

I think it is kind of ironic that a car that is supposed to save the environment is shown in in a completely artificial environment with livid colors that do not occur in nature.

the commercials are very smart looking and smart period. I would love a prius. can't afford one, but they are nice cars.Im going to at least test drive one. I also love the concept of having people play gods green earth. beautiful, clean, and green, the way its intended to be! some people need to stop hateing!!!

I like those Toyota Prius TV Ads. I thinks they are interesting and cute as can be. When I hear the music I head for the TV to watch them.
