Company fleet managers pick Porsche Cayenne diesel as car of the year

I'd like to know the name of the firm that offers Porsche Cayennes as company cars so I can apply for a job. Somebody must be doing it, or else fleet managers are driving them on their own. In a survey of 150 fleet managers for FIRMENAUTO and the DEKRA Association of Automotive Specialists, the new Cayenne diesel was selected as company car of the year. The fleet managers selected the Cayenne, in part, for its fuel efficiency, saying that managers could choose an SUV without guilt. The Cayenne diesel was launched last spring and uses the same 3.0-liter TDI V6 that is installed in the Volkswagen Touareg and Audi Q7. Unfortunately, Porsche has opted not to sell the Cayenne diesel in North America. Here in the U.S. we'll have to wait until sometime later in 2010 when the Cayenne hybrid is expected to debut.

PRESS RELEASE:

Porsche Cayenne Diesel voted "Company Car of the Year"Economical and Efficient SUV Convinces Fleet Managers

Stuttgart. In early July 150 Car Fleet Managers chose the both economical and sporting Porsche Cayenne Diesel as their Company Car of the Year 2009 in the Maxi SUV category of Europe's largest practical comparative car test. This special prize is awarded by the motoring journal FIRMENAUTO and the DEKRA Association of Automotive Specialists.

The factor crucial to this overwhelming result for the Cayenne facing the vote of automobile professionals in the area of fleet management for the first time, was not only the outstanding comfort and driving behaviour of the Porsche Cayenne, but also the economical and powerful diesel engine available since February of this year. "With this economical power unit Car Fleet Managers have every reason to choose a Porsche with a good conscience", states Hanno Boblenz, Editor-in-Chief of FIRMENAUTO, in endorsing the choice of the Cayenne. Another factor is the entry-level price of 47,780.67 Euro net of the Cayenne Diesel surprisingly low for many members of the jury.
