Facebook just wasn't enough, apparently. General Motors has unveiled a new social media site dedicated to the Chevrolet Volt. Called VoltAge, the site brings together all sorts of Volt-friendly, GM-approved social media aspects onto one page. You've got your reader forum, your GM blog posts and Tweets, your pictures, your polls, and a video or two. U.S. Chevy vice president Ed Peper describes the site's intent as:
To inform and engage concerned individuals about the movement toward alternative transportation energy sources and to provide a behind-the-scenes view of how one manufacturer, Chevrolet, is working to bring its advanced extended range electric vehicle to life.
We're not sure how long GM intends to keep the site running (it was started this week), but Peper says that discussion and perspectives will be shared "over the next weeks and months." The site's first video, showcasing the building of the Volt prototype, is available after the jump.
