Fresh from NYC: pictures of Tesla Motors's new store

Tesla NYC story - Click above for high-res image gallery
AutoblogGreen reader Lennon went down to the opening of the new Tesla Motors store in New York City today and sent us a series of pictures so that those of us who were not able to check out the Apple-like showroom and fancy fruit plates (and, of course, the swag) in person can still see what it was like. More interested in function than fashion? Lennon provides us with shots of the Roadster's EPA sticker and the store's future floor plan. Go ahead and gawk a while. Thanks to Lennon for the pics!

So they are selling leftover 2008 model cars?
That's what the window sticker shows....

Yep, those are 2008 models. The "Validation Prototype" cars were made before official production began, the ones that weren't crash tested are being used for test drives. Tesla Motors isn't planning to sell them, at least not yet. That's why the demo unit has a "2008" model year sticker.
By the way, the "29 City" and "32 Hiway" on the sticker isn't "MPG", it is Kilowatt-hours per 100 miles

The sticker says 22% of the foreign content comes from Thailand and Taiwan doesn't even make the list which means it would be less than 1%!!!! But we know the motor is made in Taiwan and the sticker says the electronics module is made in Taiwan so I wonder if "Thailand" is a typo and should be Taiwan???
