VIDEO: Footage from TTXGP race finally released

TTXGP eGrandPrix - Click above to watch the video after the break
We're still more than a bit disappointed that there was no real live coverage here in the States of the TTXGP electric motorcycle race at the Isle of Man last month. What's more, it's taken way too long for good video from the event organizers to show up. In any case, the video pasted after the break finally gives us something to look back on to see how the event really played out in real life.
If the four minutes of video released on the internet serves to whet you appetite for more, we have good news. The entire race will be made available on both HD DVD and Blu-ray, including multiple camera positions (including onboard helicopter shots), a behind-the-scenes look at the paddock and interviews. Unfortunately, the video isn't expected to be ready for shipment until August.

I thought I was watching a star wars movie at first with the intro sound.
Nice camera angles and shots, wow!
Let's hope they include a lot of info about the Agni machine. I want to know why it whooped everyone's ass.

HD DVD? I thought that format died over a year ago?

If the DVD is going to have that crappy music blaring over everything, including the bikes like in this video.... no thanks.
I was hoping for something a bit more in-depth, considering what a landmark occasion this is.
All that said, I genuinely hope that each of these manufacturers can bring their bikes to market. I really like the e-bikes with fairings. Sorry Zero, Quantya, et al; you're cool but not for the street.

They were going for an exciting feel like in the 2003 "Faster" movie: http://www.fastermovie.com/trailer.html
Note that "Faster" was co-produced by Chris Payne who then did "Who killed the electric car?".
They obviously put this together for use as promotional material to promote next year's event. For me, it works. The tune was produced by Peter Frampton, no less. Guitar music and bikes go very well together. ;)

I expressed some negative comments about the lack of live updates over on my site, and Azhar Hussain, the TTXGP founder, actual apologized and commented that it will be much improved next year. http://bit.ly/tWa7U is the link to the blog post, with his comment.

The human story behind Agni Motors is incredible. Watch Agni's Tech lead Cedric Lynch in this interview where he hows his handmade electric motorcycle:

Obviously, he's had a 20-years head start and is a pioneer in that space. I hope he and Agni are able to profit from the incoming electric vehicle revolution. Sounds like a unique individual.
