eBay find of the Friday: Phibian electric car prepares you for zombie apocalypse

Back in 1992 artist John T. Young constructed a vehicle so futuristic, it would have to wait hundreds of
If you are looking at the battery-powered all-aluminum craft in the photo above and thinking, "Hey, it has no windows!", you'd be correct. Glass is far too fragile to keep you from becoming a brain buffet and so once the hatch is closed, navigation is accomplished by either radar, sonar, closed circuit television or "other electronic means". By the numbers, it has 2 golf cart motors, 3 deep-cycle batteries, 4 tubed motorcycle tires, 5 speeds (plus reverse) and, to date, has traveled 68 miles. The seller claims it has no leaks. It also has no warranty, no guarantee, and can not be licensed for the road. Although the top speed is only 25 mph on land and 3 kph on water, zombies locomote slower than sloths and (probably) can't swim. Happy bidding.

Plus the wedge front end is good for running down zombies and it has more than enough ground clearance to go over said wedged zombie. Unfortunately it lacks side mounted chain saws that are proved zombie killers.

"Unfortunately it lacks side mounted chain saws that are proved zombie killers."
The edges on those side-mounted paddles look pretty sharp though.

Domenick is a very funny writer. Thanks for that wonderful bit of amusement.

That will change as soon as Michael Phelps becomes a zombie and starts teaching other zombies. Then watch out, even the waters will be unsafe from zombies.

Hey were is the link to this vehicle? I wanted to put my bid in. I hope the bidding is not up to 30k yet cause that's all I am willing to go on this EV.

Ray,
Clicking on the picture will take you to the auction. As well, at the end of the post where the source is given, "eBay" is hyperlinked to the correct page. I added a link to "Happy bidding" as well just now.

Are people crazy?, why would anyone want something this useless and impractical, zombies aren't real(sorry geeks), and in the case of the apocalypse there will be no power for those batteries, unless you find some solar hideout. This is a waste of brain power, the same type of stagnant thought that should be frowned upon. Hey Ray, instead of bidding 30k on a toy to show to your friends like some insecure adolescent why not buy a 30k wind mill or solar system(depending on where you live) to decrease the chance of the apocalypse at least then you're somewhat useful.
PS: When a follow up article of someone drowning in this thing in a lake pops up, all the persons life will be to me is a short snicker.
Sorry for bringing yellow rain to the dork parade, but really people?

Sorry Brent but when East Berlin's Iron Curtain wall falls and the Russians start taking over West Germany and roll over other European nations your going to wish you had this vehicle. Or if the Japanese win WW II.
Brent 8:34PM (8/14/2009)
Dude what are you talking about this isn't gonna cross an ocean or do anything to save me from invasion. The japanese already lost WW2, you might want to get an encyclopedia, it may also state that zombies are fiction. I know you're being sarcasic, so I would hope you were being sarcastic about the attempted purchase of a 25mph on ground 3 mph water vehicle, it won't even outrun any modern tank :)

Brent, just stop.
This whole humor/social interaction thing is clearly way, way over your head.
Besides, if you cannot see the genius in the vision, then you're best off left as zombie bait.
After all, I don't have to be the fastest one running from a zombie, I just don't want to be the slowest...

You guys heard of hyperlinks yet?

Hyperlinks? No I will google it. Also the Berlin wall falling and Japan loosing the war. :)
Domenick, I will look at the auction but I was joking a bit there. I do not have room to store this vehicle in my garage. I have a dry sense of humor. Thanks. :)
Ray 11:46PM (8/15/2009)
It is in my neck of the woods, Seattle Washington. It is up to $1,333.00.
