REPORT: Lexus HS 250h in short supply; U.S. launch affected?

Once again, a hybrid sales success may mean shortages for Toyota as the Japanese automaker rolls out a desirable new product here in the United States. First, the new-for-2010 Prius hatchback proved to be such a stellar sales champ that Toyota found its production hampered by a shortage of batteries. Now, Automotive News reports that the new Lexus HS 250h is in such high demand in Japan that Toyota may not be able to provide an adequate supply of the luxury hybrid model here in the States.
Toyota had initially targeted 500 sales per month of the HS 250h in its home market, but a number of government-backed sales incentives and tax breaks for hybrid vehicles has boosted demand for the new sedan so much that Toyota saw 10,000 orders in its first month on sale in Japan. The Lexus HS 250h is scheduled to hit U.S. dealerships next month with a base price of $35,075 (including shipping), barring any unforeseen supply restrictions.

I told you last week that toyota and other car manufacturers don't like selling battery cars, is it clear or not ?? The battery market is leaded by high financial peoples and u.s.a goverment and big-oil to serve their interests only that consist of making people sick financially and biologically with toxic waste ( petrol ). As soon as their subsidized by income tax 'new' battery partners are ready to produce and sell batteries, then as soon as big-oil try to impede this trade by rising the price of the batteries, shorting the supply and change suddently all the deal. They try to put the car makers under direct control to maintain toxic waste business. All this battery trading is coming from subsidies and regulation like petrol is. Unfortunattelly actual car makers and especially their high ranking managers are casching in bib money under the table from big oil, so they are not fast in offering green cars to their own paying consumers.
I told you to stop any car or truck expenditures toward toyota and other car manufacturers and convert the old clunkers to naturalgas/hydrogen gas for 500$ to 2 000$ approx.

People like you just will not shut up until you get a job on the assembly line and realize how tough it actually is to produce these batteries. Toyota is doing everything they can to meet demand, but the battery manufacturers are having trouble catching up to demand.
Despite what some idiots may think, there is not an abundance of companies who produce these batteries and most can only produce 500,000 or less a year, sounds like a lot when you think about how many hybrids will be built, but not all of those battery resources go into hybrids, EVs or Hydrogen concepts.
Big Oil is not "EVIL" gorr, they are a business, they sell a product and they want that product to do well. Even if the nonsense you speak about auto-oil cooperation were true, it is not illegal for such agreements to occur, it is not even unethical, this happens in business ALL THE TIME. We may not like it, but it is not corrupt or illegal.

Big oil, IS evil, and it IS corrupt and unethical.
I could tell you some fact that would make your head spin abouty how much they are willing to do to make sure every penny ends up in their pocket. They Lobby with the best of them. They make agreements with all the largest manufactures in the world, both in the chemical and auto manufacturing. I'll give you an example, of a both unethical and greedy activity:
Many years ago, it was discovered the melithium-delsulfide could be added to motor oil to make it last 10-20 times longer, being 50k-100k miles before an oil change. This would save billions of gallons a year of motor oil, bring down pollution, disposal fees, help the publics pocket, as well as helping cars run more reliably and longer. The largest oil companies signed a contact for billions with dow corning so that dow could never add its products to in any way further the abilities of auto mobiles, and this stands today that you could have 50-100,000 miles an oil change, but you have 10-20 times as many, due to nothing short of pure stagnant greed. At the expense of everyone except oil CEOs.
If you don't find that illogical, unethical, and corrupt then I don't know of anything you could, and I would advise some philosophical and deductive reasoning classes at your local college.
There are plenty more examples if you would wish me to carry on, but all and all I'm trying to point out to you, you're a number in a system and a penny in the pocket of these guys and they could care less if you were alive or dead, so stop defending them as if you're being paid to.

I think that's it's worth mentionning that every ones in subsidies business are casching money over the table, from consumers and under the table to continue trading petrol money. Few are interrested in selling a green car, even a natural gas car or truck. Look at the numbers. 99.9% of gasoline or diesel and 0.1% of silly battery car.
Peoples didn't realize yet before you and me said so that gm, toyota, honda, ford, chrsler, mercedes, volkwagen, nissan managers were casching money over the table and especially under the table to not put green cars on the market while doing false pr campaings about how hard they try to cut fuel consumption while casching money from their consumers and selling them to big-oil and sudden tax increases and sudden price hack at the fuel pumps.
Just check reality, toyota, gm, ford, honda, mazda, volk, etc are casching lots of money
illegally to maintain petrol trading and are not interrested whatsoever in offering a green car to anyone at all. If you suffocate, then don't drive, don't work, don
't exist and don
't speak, don't go far and live alone in the contry and pay tax for green studies.

Neither of you have stated any facts, only pure speculation and, to be honest, probably flat out lies. You are the type of people who take a "rumor" or just make one up and twist it around to seem unethical.
Case in point:
GM cut the EV1 Program
Reason: EV1 was in low demand and cost WAY too much to make and was a very poor product for the cost.
Your Spin:
GM had a under-the-table agreement to prevent the launch of the EV1 with George W. Bush and The Oil business all involved.
You guys are just those types of people who want something and will peddle false rumors and nonsense to get what you want. You are no better than the health care industry spreading false rumors about reform...

I think the new Prius is way much nicer looking than the HS250h. The Lexus hybrid looks like a car picture that your mail server is shrunk to fit your image.

I find it interesting that this says the HS250 is due here next month when I saw a black one driving down Santa Monica Boulevard Sunday night. I pulled up behind it. But it was driving so slowly that I went around it and got a good look at it. After we passed the Tesla store, it got on the 405 North bound on ramp behind me.
I will say this, it looks better in person than in the photos for some reason.
It had dealer plates, but the kind that I have on my 2010 Prius right now that you get when you purchase a car -- not DLR plates of the kind you might have a advance test-drive car.
If I'd realized it wasn't available yet I would've taken photos of it.

I sat in one today at a Lexus Dealer near my home. It's a nice car...certainly more interesting that a Camry Hybrid or an ES. They had two and the salesman was well aware that there would be shortages.

If there are shortages, then just wait until production catches up with demand. We're not going anywhere.
