VIDEO: Fisker Karma's design was bred from dogs and fighter jets

Do playfully fighting dogs and advanced jet fighters come to mind when you see pictures of the Fisker Karma? They should, since the design was based on angles and lines found in nature and highly technological machines, including the pups and jets. Famed designer Henrik Fisker talks about how the Karma got its look in a new video feature from Jyskebank TV. There's got to be a karma/dog(ma) joke in here somewdere, but we'll let it slide.

Fisker says he designed the car to be the type of vehicle he wanted to drive in the future. This meant it wasn't going to be a boring eco-box "like all our governments want us to," but a sexy, environmentally friendly ride. Fisker explains that he's most proud of the way the lines meet around the headlights, saying that it gives the car a real "face." We thought the mustache grille managed to convey facial features pretty well, but apparently the headlights take precedence in the mind of the designer. One undermentioned eco-touch in the Karma: the wood accents in the interior are made from salvaged trees burned by wild fires in California.
