Think has an order backlog 2,300 vehicles long

The latest official Twitter update from Th!nk reads as follows:
2,300 people who are waiting for their cars? This is good news for Think, which announced it will move production to Finland and re-start production of their all-electric city vehicle following a capital increase of $47 million from partners Ener1, Valmet Automotive and Investinor, the Norwegian Government-backed investment fund. Think CEO Richard Canny said recently that he hopes the first customer sales from cars made from the restarted production lines will be completed "this side of 2010." Guess at least a few of those 2,300 people will be happy sooner rather than later.We will be re-opening the order book for the Think City in Europe in late October. Our present backlog is about 2,300 orders

A real shame these vehicles are not available in North-America. I like its plastic toy look -- halfway between a Mini and a new Beetle. Cute.

Saturn used color-impregnated ABS body panels. Sure, they reduce costs, but they tend to shatter instead of bend. And then there were the flammability issues... Burning Saturns were not a pretty sight - or smell!
The Think is a great city car, and I do wish they were available here. Shame on Ford for backing down from the challenge.

Huh? Your description of Saturns is exactly the opposite of my experience with them. One, the panels bounce back like nobody's business. I've even heard of another owner of heading out to her car in the parking lot and finding she couldn't unlock it. It turned out that someone smashed up her door in the lot and damaged the mechanism, but the door bounced back, hiding the damage. I'd absolutely believe it, based on my experience with mine.
Two, I've been in a rollover in my Saturn -- full flip, highway speeds, into a ditch. It held up *amazingly* well -- only a couple thousand dollars in damage. Only the drivers' side window broke -- even the windshield remained intact. The engine was still running when we came to a rest right-side up.

Valmet must be very happy right now. They've got this very big Think order to fill, and now Fisker has just gotten $528 Million from the DOE for the NINA and Karma...

And Enerdel too! They are supplying both Fisker and Th!nk with batteries.
