eKRAD developing eQUAD [w/VIDEO]

While we await word of when production will begin of their electric supermoto (their website says late 2009) the folks who cooked up the eKRAD have been keeping busy with another possible product; the eQUAD. Though not much is yet known about the four-wheeled machine we can say that, like their bike, they plan on both an off-road and a street legal version. According to Peter Würterle, one of the main men behind the project, that would be the first of its kind in Europe.
The electric quad will have a motor and controller different from that installed in its two-wheeled brother that should be good for about 50 hp. No word on the battery but we expect the chemistry to be the same lithium polymer that's nestled within the eKRAD. If you're wondering if 50 horses supplies enough juice to light up the tires you'll find your answer after the break with a pair of videos showing the prototype caught in action on some asphalt. Since it's Saturday, we'll throw in a third blooper video that vividly demonstrates why wearing a helmet on machines like these is a good idea.

Low profile wheels and street tires on a quad? I'm confused.
These guys need a go-cart, not a quad.

not street legal in the US even though this would be cool to cruise around the city on and commute etc. In Europe however, I can definitely see people who can afford one driving them around, not to mention those who made one in their garage at home already.

Nice looking machine if a bit fragile with the low profiles. But hardly the first electric quad in Europe?? That's either extreme commercial naivety or something more low-handed.
They've been imported for years now. In fact, I used to at www.electroquads.com. They also have been MANUFACTURED in Italy (Europe, folks) by GEO in Italy for a few years now. And yes, street legal. The GEO Country is a proper utility quad that is also road legal. My my Peter, have you used Google at all lately? In the last 3 years?

It seems I may have altered the context of his remark somewhat. What I believe he meant was that it would be the first street-legal quad in Europe.

But Dominick, nobody must be doing their homework here.
There is a street legal electric quad in Europe already. And MADE in Europe.
ps I've just said this in my first post that you have replied to.
There is already an electric street (road) legal quad in Europe. And in America. In fact worldwide. Its pricey, but then it is a utility quad.
