Joe Biden reveals Fisker's future plans: sedan, coupe and crossover in the works
Henrik Fisker talks about the future with Fox News - Click above to watch the video after the break
Earlier this month, Fox news was ripping Fisker Automotive apart and Fisker fought back. Yesterday, as the start-up automaker announced it will buy an old GM plant in Delaware, everyone was all smiles when Fox reporter Gary Gastelu interviewed CEO Henrik Fisker about the plant and confirming something that Vice President Joe Biden said during his remarks at the factory.
Fisker confirmed that at least three derivatives using the Project Nina powertrain platform – Biden mentioned sedans, coupes and crossovers – will be built at the plant. "He definitely told what our product plans are, so I guess we need to live up to it," Fisker said. Fisker also confirmed that the first Project Nina car will be a sexy sports sedan, somewhat like the Karma but smaller and less expensive. Biden, who has seen the project plans for the Nina sedan, said "it looks like a four-door Ferrari, I can't believe it's only going to be $40,000." Watch the video after the jump.

4 door Ferrari? How can a car look like something that does not exist?

Democracy? Sure, except this is government intervention, not quite democracy, is it?
polo 1:48PM (10/28/2009)
Now we refer to loans for job creation as "government interference"?? I hope no politician you vote for ever gets elected.
Richard 4:35PM (10/28/2009)
What would you call it?
Richard 4:59PM (10/28/2009)
Oh by the way, as stated above, this loan is to promoted alternative fueled cars. The employment part is an added bonus.

Richard is one of those people who thinks subsidies to the oil industry and wars in Iraq were implemented by Europeanised Liberals.
Chris M 11:33PM (10/28/2009)
Well, Richard, consider that a Government of the People is an intrinsic part of Democracy. It is really silly to assume a democracy without a government, it would be like a car without wheels.
Tohe 2:25AM (10/29/2009)
Not to mention Richard, that the Advanced Technology Vehicles Manufacturing Loan Program was funded by the previous administration (possibly as another mean to throw money at hydrogen). The current administration is simply handing out the checks.
BTW the other video from the Fox Car Report with Fisker's COO is far more informative: http://www.foxnews.com/video/index.html?playerId=011008&streamingFormat=FLASH&referralObject=11046994&referralPlaylistId=3f678a717f97ef1e78fff11e96c984c75116d98d

They expect to sell 100,000 cars? If that's per year, that's more than some established makes like Jaguar, Porsche, and Saab!

What's weirder is that these foreign companies not only are profitable at lesser volumes, but don't they face import duties as well? At least if the car is not assembled in part in the US. Does anybody know?
Boyprodigy1 3:19PM (10/28/2009)
Yeah its gonna be assembled in Delaware...

Wake up! Half a Billion Dollars is an IMPOSSIBLE ROYAL FLUSH of loan money to score for such a tiny company.
PORSCHE owns over 50% of VW, 3rd BIGGEST car company in the known universe with only $12.2 Billion of extra debt!!
and that same car company PORSCHE ; a national symbol, could not even get a $2.5Billion loan from their government.
Remember the trade dispute talks after France and Germany pledged $2.5Billion to enormous Airbus???
tiny Fisker couldn't get half a Billion Dollars of loan without knowing people at the top like a couple of Veeps.

Hello Sean, back again I see but as a finger puppet.

I'd like to see if the Pay Czar orders a 90% pay cut for Fisker's upper management as the stipulation for accepting government help.
