Toyota is showing off its European-market minicar iQ with a splash on the streets of Portugal. An ultra-limited edition Toyota iQ, called the iQ Urban Art was created by award-winning artist Joana Vasconcelos.

There are only five editions going on sale, each one featuring a color scheme inspired by Vasconcelos' fascination with Pop Art and Nouveau Realisme. The collaboration between Vasconcelos and Toyota follows a single repainted iQ that she repainted with a similar design in 2010. That car gained some popularity on the streets of Lisbon, Portugal's capital city. It led to Toyota Portugal asking Vasconcelos to come up with a concept for the special edition. Each one is built on an iQ2 with a 1.0-liter VVT-i engine, aluminum sill plates and a choice between automatic or manual gearbox.

Each of these special edition models will be offered for sale online with the support of a dedicated assistant overseeing the process from start to finish. Owners will see the color patterns on a smart key cover and accompanying travel bag, and will be presented with all of it at a personalized handover event.
