Yes, next month, from September 15-21, National Drive Electric Week will take place in over 100 locations around the country (with some in Canada and Mexico). The celebration of electric vehicles is organized by Plug In America, the Sierra Club and the Electric Auto Association. The idea is to get people who've never driven an EV to test them out, talk to current owners and spread the word online. Last year, the big announcement tied to the celebratory weekend (it's been expanded this year to a full week) was that Nissan had sold a total of 35,000 Leafs in the US. With almost 60,000 sold now (57,877 as of the end of July), it's been a good year for the world's most popular EV.
