Corvette C6.R GT2 wins ALMS green challenge in first race

Last weekend, the Corvette Racing team debuted its all-new GT2 class Corvette C6.R at the American Le Mans Series race at Mid-Ohio. The pair of Corvettes didn't quite manage an overall class victory on the track but did finish second and forth. The #3 yellow and black Corvette of Johnny O'Connell and Jan Magnussen did, however, take advantage of its cellulosic ethanol fuel and good fuel efficiency to win the Michelin Green "X" challenge for the GT class.
