Volkswagen to run CNG Scirocco in Nurburgring 24 hours

Volkswagen is looking to follow up its victory at this year's Dakar rally with a completely different kind of alternative-fueled racer. While the diesel Touaregs raced across South America in January, a pair of natural gas-fueled Sciroccos will tackle the Nurburgring 24 hour race next month. The CNG-fueled coupes are powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four cylinder putting out just under 300 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque.
