Bringing Skinny Back: Tango electric production to restart?

Until the Tesla Roadster came along, most electric cars were odd looking, to say the least. Near the top of the list of peculiar EVs you'll find the Tango. This tandem two seater looks like a Japanese Kei car that got stuck in a bagel slicer. It's creator, Rick Woodbury, stopped building Tangos after 11 were completed. But, if you lust after one of these babies, fear not. He is apparently ready to restart production of the three-foot wide car that can slip down between the cars in adjacent lanes like a motorcycle. The market for such ... Read more →

George Clooney still doing the Tango 1 year ago on Autoblog Green

The rich folk of Hollywood, it's probably fair to say, switch out their bling mobiles on a pretty regular basis because, well, because they can. There are, however, a few who have embraced green transportation alternatives like Ed Begley Jr. (bicycle) and Darryl Hannah (former biodiesel El Camino ...

Tango your way to 60 miles per gallon 1 year ago on Autoblog Green

I was passing by my local scooter store the other day when I caught a glimpse of what looked like a small three-wheeled road-going vehicle. Since traffic was demanding my attention I didn't get a good look and thought it might be a Cree, an electric three-wheeler from Switzerland, but then I ...

The 24-minute talk was made in July by Rick Woodbury, the Tango creator. The description at the page says "before there was the Wrightspeed X-1, there ...

Another homebuilt Segway-like contraption built by teens in Canada 2 years ago on Autoblog Green

Despite the internet ribbing that the Segway tends to get, people sure are fond of making copies of them (see related posts below). Actually, maybe it's because of the ribbing they get... I mean, how cool is it that a couple of teens in Canada can take some wheelchair motors, 36 volts worth of ...
