Ford adds wheat straw plastic to a small corner of the 2010 Flex
Soy seats aren't Ford's only way to introduce as many bio-materials as possible into a production vehicle. See also: Mazda's biofabric and Toyota's "ecological plastics." Ford announced today that a new wheat straw-reinforced plastic will be used in the 2010 Flex. You'll have to kind of hunt for the bioplastic in the interior, though, since only the third-row storage bins will be made with it.
