Chicago 2009: GM transforms Volt into Jolt, Beat into Skids, Trax into Mudflap

GM didn't see fit to invite Megan Fox to the Chicago Auto Show this week, but the General did bring what it thinks are the real stars of Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen: the cars. For our purposes, the Chevy Jolt (née Volt) was the star of the new Autobot line-up, even if the interior reveals it to be most certainly not a Volt and the floppy badges mean this car is not yet ready for a close-up. GM hopes to make more money on smaller cars 1 year ago on Autoblog Green

The General, along with the rest of the American automakers, has a long established history of making the most profits from the largest vehicles. Small cars from the Detroit 3 have therefore fallen way behind the imports when it comes to desirability. GM Global Design Chief Ed Welburn went so far as ...

Click above for more live shots of the Chevy Beat concept We called the apparent decision by the General to bring the Beat to the U.S. a "no brainer".
