California, others ask EPA to limit ocean ships' emissions

The world's oceans are full of endless mystery, adventure, plastics and controversy. And, of course, really big boats. Giant ocean liners (the new ones are so big that the Panama Canal is being enlarged to accommodate them), are not exactly emission-free vehicles.
