Toyota FCHV-adv cruises in California, wind-powered hydrogen on the horizon
While hydrogen cars from Toyota, Nissan and Honda were driving the 707 miles from Tokyo to Osaka, another group of H2 vehicles from the U.S. DOE's National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) and Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) was in California conducting a research test drive. The two Toyota Highlander FCHV-adv models proved they could go at least 431 miles per tank, which equals about 68 mpg.
