Big summer music festivals go easy on the environment with biodiesel and more

Biodiesel in the band buses is just one way some of this summer's largest music festivals – the Warped Tour, Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, All Good and Bonnaroo – will be reducing their impact on the environment, MTV reports.

Bonnaroo will be one of the greenest festival, with recycling all over the 700 acre farm where the event is held, organic cotton t-shirts and, giving me a reason to mention this on AutoblogGreen, using 25,000 gallons of biodiesel in the non-music stage generators and having one stage be powered by solar energy. It's a little disappointing that they don't trust biodiesel for the music stage. Attendees will be able to purchase carbon offset credits for their road trip to the festival.

The Warped Tour, which will tour the country, doesn't have a problem committing to biodiesel. The tour's 18 buses, 14 production trucks and – oh wait – half its backstage generators will all use the B20. Vendor's displays will also be powered with biodiesel.
