I assume the Accord Hybrid figures were due to it really not being anymore fuel efficent than the Accord I-4. Yet the premium paid for an Accord Hybrid is 30K plus.

I drive a 2005 Civic Hybrid. Average combined mpg is 44, although I have achieved 50 during all below 50 driving. I would purchase a new Accord if they offered the 4 cylinder hybrid engine in it. The Civic is a little small for an average sized guy while the Accord fits quite well but does not achieve the mpg the smaller powerplant would provide.

We have a '05 Accord Hybrid with 18,000+ miles on it.We average 30 mph overall with up to 40 mpg if driven under 50 mph and under 27 in heavy traffic. Performance is more than one could expect from a hybrid.
