Hertfordshire constables now cruising in a hybrid Prius

Constables in Hertfordshire in the U.K. have taken delivery of a new Toyota Prius T3 to use in daily "nuisance patrols". The Prius is the first hybrid the Hertfordshire police are using and was donated by the Toyota dealer in nearby Watford. The police will be using the green machine on daily drives to help combat "anti-social behaviour", which is not more fully defined by Toyota in their press release. The dealer who donated the car is more gregarious, though, saying "As a fledgling business in Watford, we are pleased to show our support for the local community by offering a tangible resource. I have no doubt the Prius will live up to the demands placed on it."
