Alternative Energy Sources brings on ADM exec for ethanol work
The line between agribusiness and ethanol continues to get blurrier with the announcement yesterday from Alternative Energy Sources (AENS) that former ADM executive John A. Ward has become EVP and Director of Operations of AENS. Ward started at ADM in 1990 and worked at the top of that company's corn-processing operations, including vice president of fermentation products. From 2001-2006, Ward managed all manufacturing and engineering functions of the corn-processing and the bio-products divisions at ADM, so he brings some knowledge to the ethanol-producing AENS. AENS will build ethanol plants in Iowa and Illinois. Related:

Blurry? It's been clear to me for some time that ethanol is a multi-billion dollar Politically Correct scheme to buy the support and votes of corn (and other grain) farmers with ADM as the principal beneficiary. Funded with my tax dollars.
Since ethanol can't compete on its own in the marketplace, it will have to be forced down our throats with government coercion, or massive subsidies, hence the need for vote-buying.
Political Correctness makes bad politics, bad economics, and bad science.
