Cenex sponsors Greenpower Formula 24 National Championship

Cenex is a public-private consortium that aims to help British companies move toward greener technologies. They run a knowledge transfer network that helps companies to share low carbon and fuel cell technology and also promotes activities that demonstrate the technologies. Cenex has announced that they are sponsoring the Greenpower Formula 24 Championship. Formula 24 has been running since 1999 and provides an opportunity for British high school students to compete in design, construction and racing. The students have to build a single seat racecar powered by a standard 24V electric wheelchair motor and four 12V car batteries that are provided by the organizers. The racers are judged on design and construction and then run a 6-hour enduro to see who can go the farthest. A series of six hour races are held around the United Kingdom and 75 teams with 900 students come to the national final held at Goodwood. This years final will be held Sunday, October 15 starting at 11am at Goodwood. If you are reading this in the UK head out and cheer on the students. And send us pictures!
