Sleek Toyota Auris hatchback (diesel and petrol) coming to Europe next year
If you enjoy tempting yourself with diesels that are available in Europe and Japan but not the rest of the world, then feast on Toyota's Auris hatchback, a replacement for the Corolla. The Auris, already available in Japan and coming to Europe in February 2007, is a three- or five-door car with five different engine types that all meet Euro IV emissions standards (two petrol engines, the 1.4 VVT-i and 1.6 Dual VVT-i, and three diesels, 1.4, 2.0 and 2.2 D-4D. The 2.0 liter D-4D 130 engine is the one in the 2007 Avensis, and the 2.2 D-4d 180 uses Toyota's D-CAT clean diesel technology to reduce nitrogen oxides (NOx) and particulate emissions.You can read Autoblog's Auris coverage here.
