Pres. Bush dons a lab smock to promote cellulosic ethanol and other alternative fuels
President Bush touted his energy agenda at the Novozymes Corporation in North Carolina on Thursday. The company is using a federal grant to develop cheaper methods of producing cellulosic ethanol from wood chips and ag waste.The president looked the part as he talked to reporters, dressed in a smock and wearing safety glasses. It's nice to see Bush pushing other fuels other than corn-based ethanol. Cellulosic ethanol certainly holds more promise in many ways if scientists can bring down the production costs. During the exchange with company officials, Bush acknowledged that higher corn prices are affecting hog farmers in North Carolina.
